You’ll depart early from Kampala (or Entebbe) to drive south through villages, swamps and over the equator into the southern hemisphere to reach Lake Mburo NP by late morning. You’ll have time to relax at your lodge and enjoy the views over the savannah while you take a leisurely lunch. This afternoon you’ll be taken on a game drive through the park down to the lake edge so keep an eye for game herds of impala, Burchell’s zebra, giraffe and eland along the way. From the lake’s shore, take a boat cruise and head out onto the water in search of crocodiles and hippo pods with a knowledgeable guide who will also be able to identify the huge range of birdlife found around the lake which include African finfoot, black headed weaver birds, a variety of kingfishers and the African fish eagle. On your return to dry land you’ll head back to your lodge to watch the sunset.
