The one day trail to see the four Sipi Falls is a popular activity and it starts from the village of Sipi.

Itinerary

DAY 1Kampala - Budadiri to Sasa Camp

We will pick you up at your hotel for the journey to Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, a 5 hour journey past the Mabira Forest onward to Mbale town and Budadiri. The simplest and fastest, way up the mountain is the Sasa trail leaving from Budadiri. In the morning you reach Budadiri 1250m, nearby Mbale town, at the gate of the Mount Elgon National Park. After arranging the guide and porters, with food and camping gear.

DAY 2We move from Sasa camp to Mude Camp

After breakfast at the camping site, proceed through the forest to the summit base camp – Mude Cave Campsite for dinner and overnight. It’s about 4 to 5 hours, 600m elevation. However, it you have limited time, working with a tight budget and have fit, you can trek straight up to Mude, rest the night and strike out for the summit, Wagagai, the following morning. Regardless, it is best to reach the summit in the morning, owing to cloud cover after midday.

DAY 3From Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak 4321m then return to Mude

After breakfast you walk through the moorland zone up to the main peak, Wagagai, and return to the Mude campsite for dinner and overnight. It may take 8 to 9 hours of elevation – 820m. Descending, you have the choice to return by the Sasa Trail or head on wards across the caldera.

DAY 4From Mude Camp back to Budadiri

After breakfast descend to Budadiri and back to Mbale.

DAY 5Heading back to Jinja

Breakfast and then it off for Jinja where we go to the source of the Nile River Park and see where the White Nile and Lake Victoria merge. Lunch at the Sunset Hotel overlooking the Nile River. In the afternoon, we drive back to your Hotel in Kampala, we can certainly arrange your hotel stay in Uganda from budget to up-market facilities.
